I wonder if graphic designers deliberately include inside jokes in the logos they design, or if they steop back and really see how the logo will be seen by others. Let’s **anal** yze the logo for the [Instituto de Estudos Orientais](http://www.cfh.ufsc.br/~oriente/) (SFW), a student organization at the Universidad Federal de Santa Catarina in Brazil. Do you see the sun rising over the silhouette of a temple, or something else? ---

I understand what it’s supposed to be, and I also understand what people are seeing. I just can’t seem to help seeing it as an abstract Ronald McDonald. Me? I’d rather look at things shoved up rectums than clowns any day. ---

I have a feeling that logo won’t be around for much longer. At least not for the \*front \* door of the institute. I’m sure that the institute is known for it’s penetrating insights. ---
