I am willing to imagine that this guy is an entertainer that either works for Disney or has enough of an “in” to pull this together. Totally possible. Actually, I hope that is the case, because I found the whole thing pathetic. What exactly was he accomplishing? A proposal has 90% of the ingredients to be unforgettable by design, and all the guy needs to do is make the moment special between the two people. Timing, setting, have your heart in it. Anything beyond that is pathetic. ---

A little too much like showing off. Part of the charm of these kinds of things is that the person is going to a special effort, and doing something he might not otherwise have done, to make the occasion. This was pretty obviously something he does all the time. Plus it was Disney - the fact that it might have been nothing more than staged robbed it of any excitement. It’s very nice, and I wish them well. But I like the kind where the guy ropes total strangers into participation better. The sort of thing where you go around asking people “I want to propose to my girlfriend - do you want to help? Just hold up this sign when I point at you”. Unless you already know the answer\*…eeeeew. \*My cousin proposed around Christmas time to his now-wife. He rigged up a set of lights to say, “T-Will You Marry Me?” on their front lawn." However, they were already living together, and it was pretty much expected that they were going to get married. ---

Oh come on, people. The best proposal is the kind that’s a spectacle. It makes everyone look at the girl. In other words, _exactly_ like the wedding. My girl has specifically asked (read: commanded) me to make the proposal with as many people watching as possible. Sure, it’s conceited, but hey…I’m marrying an actress. It’s her special moment, right? Kudos to this guy’s character! ---
