The best thing about the Wikipedia article linked herein is that it gives the titles of the songs Bugs is playing on the banjo (“Rainy Night in Rio”), harp (“My Gal is a High-Born Lady”) and tuba (“When Yuba Plays the Rumba on the Tuba”). Where did they come up with this stuff?

One and two and three and four she dances all day long…

“No, no, no! Not the red one! Don’t ever push the red one!”

I use that line from time to time, and no one ever recognizes it. I’m surrounded by Philistines.

How about when Daffy starts to write out a fricasseeing rabbit licence and asks Bugs how to spell “fricasseeing”?

I posted a link above to a site where the author claims to have ranked a bunch of Looney Tune cartoons and he places “Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century” at the top.

I watched it yesterday and I must admit that it sure does rival Long Haired Hare. There were a couple of scenes that caused me to LOL.

The first one was when the Martian pointed his “disintegrating gun” at Daffy and Daffy said, “Go ahead and pull the trigger! I’m wearing my disintegrating proof vest!” I figured that was like the “bullet-proof vests” that modern police people wear. Anyway, the Martian pulled the trigger and slowly, everything Daffy was wearing began to disintegrate. In about 3 seconds Daffy disintegrated and everything he wore also disintegrated - except for the vest - which fell to the floor in perfect condition.

I don’t know why. But at the time, I found that to be absolutely hilarious and I LOL’d.

The next moment, Daffy got himself a disintegrating gun and pointed at the Martian. Daffy told the Martian to do something or other or else he would pull the trigger of his disintegrating gun. Well, the Martian did not comply and Daffy pulled the trigger of his gun.

Can you guess what happened?

The gun itself disintegrated but everything else was just fine. I howled with laughter. It was indeed a disintegrating gun.

I have to recommend that you give “Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century” a try. See if you find it as hilarious as the author of that blog.

Once again, here is a link to that site:

In addition to many of the above, I enjoyed when Bugs stopped the plummeting plane inches above the ground: “Lucky for me this thing had air brakes.” I remember thinking that air brakes actually could do that when I was little.

The Irish cop saying “Ya might, Rabbit, ya might”. A standard comeback in our house whenever someone asks the rhetorical “Would I do xxx?”

The bull flying in the air, getting his belly stuck with glue and then sandpaper to light the match which lights the gunpowder trail which leads to the barrel which blows up just as bull flies over it.

I almost used that line, complete with irish accent, to answer a county commissioner at a public hearing. Caught myself just in time.

But the really funny thing about that, as unprofessional as it would have appeared, is that everyone there probably would have “got it.”

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart … last month did a segment on Obama’s “you didn’t build that” gaffe, which hinged on the ambiguous reference of the pronoun “that” (he meant it to refer to infrastructure; Republicans interpret it to mean “your business”).

That show’s Moment of Zen was the “hmmm…pronoun trouble” clip.

Does anyone know the name of the hilarious character in merrie Melodies that only shows up maybe 3 times total in the 1940’s-1950’s? All I can remember about him is that he would annoy Daffy or maybe Bugs with his exclamation of, “Yeeeessss!”

I believe that character may have been a takeoff on [Frank Brandon Nelson](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Nelson_(actor)), a character actor famous for saying ‘eeeyeaass’ on the Jack Benny show and in other places. He kept that schtick up for decades. There was also a character on The Simpsons that parodied him.
