Decades ago, a restroom used by both Harley and Japanese bike riders had a giant rising sun drawn over the urinals. Below it, the artist wrote “REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR!” Under that, someone (hey, not me!) wrote “they won?” Two days later, the wall was covered in grafitti and the management painted over the mess. ---

In a bathroom in Norman Oklahoma, Please flush, Nobel needs water. (Nobel is a nearby town and a HS rival) written under that ‘Fuck you, we got plenty!’ In the art school building in my college was a very detailed drawing on the wall of a stall of the view looking down from your seat. (no genitals) You see the feet, legs, underwear, ect. What was great though was the commentary people left all around it. Notes on how the point of view was screwed up and other art critiques. ---

There was a women’s bathroom at Wesleyan U (in CT) where someone had pencilled in “My boyfriend wants to have anal sex, but I’m unsure. What do I do?” And then written underneath was tons and tons of advice written by other women. Fascinating. ---
