> “Difficult to work with” was how she(Linda Fiorentino) was described when she worked on _Men on Black_ in 1997. As well as _Dogma_. I am not sure if it is true though. Or as you implied something else.

Precisely, and telling people in the industry that certain actresses are “difficult to work with” is how he punished many of his victims. So years ago when I heard Kevin Smith (an old Harvey W. buddy) say that Linda was rumored to be “difficult to work with” I suspected foul play.

_The Spirit_ was a bad adaptation of the comic book character of the same name, but a decent spiritual successor to _Sin City_.

I’ve always been fond of a little-known 1988 film called _The Blue Iguana_, though it might be more of a heist movie than a neo-noir, or at the very least on the comedic/satirical fringe of neo-noir.

I came in to say Dark City but as that’s been covered I’ll add Gorky Park (also starring William Hurt) which has the full range of shadowy conspiracy, charismatic villain, uneasy alliances, femme fatale, compromised hero, sleazy mistrust, hard-boiled dialogue and a protagonist trying to do what good he can in a mean world and getting physically and emotionally bruised for his troubles. In the snow.

I really love the ‘twist’ in this movie. Never saw it coming.
