Just moved back to NYC after a break of several years. To kick off my return to the Big Apple, I’m renting myself all the greats made in/about New York City. What are some of your favorites?
I’m putting “Taxi Driver” on the top of my personal list. You have to root for the mohawked Travis Bickle at the same time you’d be scared to death to meet him in a dark alley.

I always thought that **When Harry met Sally** showcases the city well.
And I think Woody Allen set one of his movies there where it was used as prominant backdrop… hmmm. I could be mistaken on that one.
**Sleepers** features Hell’s Kitchen prominently.
**Brighton Beach Memoirs** is another favorite.

I’m a big fan of “Quick Change” starring Bill Murray, Geena Davis, and Randy Quaid. It’s silly, and mainly a movie to watch if you’ve got a bit of a grudge against NYC, but I’m a fan.

**Breakfast at Tiffany’s** and **An Affair to Remember** get my nods for being the best New York movies when it was clearly the most important and glamorous city in the world, say from 1950 - 1965.
Mrs JohnT looked at the title and immediately piped in what she calls "the Three ‘B’s’ ": **Manhattan** (Woody Allen), **Metropolitan** (Whit Stillman), and **Moonstruck** (Norman Jewison).
