Great year for music. I went with Baker Street.
I’m a sucker for ABBA.
I’ve been waiting for this year so I can vote for “Baker Street.” And I did.
I had a hard time picking. There is a lot of good songs here. Finally, I checked the results and picked a song that needed them sine most of my other choices are doing well.
I wish there were some votes for Last Dance.
Easy: Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street. Great melodies, nice chord progressions, a very evocative atmosphere. One of my desert island songs.
It has to be Barry Manilow’s *Can’t Smile Without You *, for me.
Tough choices this year. Culled it to 7 with 3 of the top 4 (sorry Kansas, just never cared for ya) vote getters in the mix, but in the end none of them got my vote. Bonnie Tyler’s voice carried it.
Damn Queen biting at Gerry Rafferty’s heels. Freddie, Roger, John and Brian are something else.
I didn’t even know they were posters here! There is some funny business going on. We are the Champions is a fine song but Baker Street deserves this year.
You voted for Rod Stewart?
This vote is getting tighter than a Texas tick on a bull’s scrotum on the Fourth of July. 28 for Queen, 28 for Gerry Rafferty.
In 1978, “Baker Street” sat at #2 for six weeks while Andy Gibb’s “Shadow Dancing” held on to #1. I hope we don’t see something similar happen again with this poll.
Hot Blooded is a really rockin tune…plus I always remember it for the Les Nesman scene in WKRP… Last Dance is one of Summer’s stalwart songs… and “sally” is really one of Slowhand’s underrated songs. I had to go with the popular kids… Baker Street… it… just … is… and Navarro’s cover was nice…
