We put premium vinyl planks in the below grade level of our split-level. It is great. If weever put anything nicer in the subbasement, we’ll probably use that.
Mosture in a basement is either caused by the ingress of water through either/or both the walls or the floor or, as you say, inadequate ventilation. IMHO, that needs to be sorted before you start laying out money on furnishings.
