Best or worst album filler

Just thought of one I’ve always liked. Vangelis’ album Heaven and Hell is usually just divided in half, one half on Side A and the other half on Side B. Between the two, after part 1, there’s a beautiful song he and Jon Anderson of Yes recorded called “So Long Ago, So Clear”. It was the precursor of a three album partnership between the two, and came close to getting Vangelis to be part of Yes at one point.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath is litterally a filler track, having been written and recorded because they needed to fill 3 minutes after having recorded the rest of the album. It then became the title track and highest charting single, so it’s hard to think of it as such.

It’s short, it’s silly, but it’s my favorite filler bit ever - Lowell George’s back and forth with the bullfrog at the beginning of “Down on thr Farm”.

I am cool with Tom Petty’s little spoken interlude, because wasn’t the female voice Annie Potts and the Annie can do no wrong.

I afraid I, too, came here to mention “Jammin’ With Edward” - awful pointless useless stuff that even the record company didn’t want to put it’s name on.

Thanks for the warning…I recently stumbled across this in an attic crate at my in-laws grandparents. I’d never heard of it and given the names I thought I’d found some rare hipster find and was getting ready to discover some wonderful lost music…I won’t waste my time trying to like it.

I’m not surprised though, there was so much shovelware vinyl printed back in the day :frowning:

Mother” from The Police’s *Synchronicity *album.

Ugh.

OK, I just ran the experiment and sat thru all of Jamming With Edward. It’s not terrible. Makes for fairly pleasant bluesy background music, actually. I wouldn’t confuse it with Beggars Banquet, but still …
