Being the fan of Prince that I am, it must not surprise that I’m also a pretty damn sizable Joni Mitchell fan, too (she’s actually my favorite female pop/rock/folk artist ever). So of course, Blue got my vote.
Could have gone any of four or five ways, but in the end I think Sticky Fingers is probably the Stones at close to their best.

I missed this thread when it was started. This is a surprisingly weak group of albums for 1971; the stuff we’ve been voting on in the late 1970s is a lot better, IMHO. There’s a lot of stuff here that hasn’t worn well, and John Lennon’s “Imagine” could be used as a sleep aid, AFAIAC.
Anyhow, I went with “Who’s Next.”
Another vote for Who’s Next. The great songs on the album have been played to death but that doesn’t minimize the stature of the work.
