Rust Never Sleeps is my favorite Neil Young album. However, I’d probably vote for it if it was 2 20-minute versions of Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black). Luckily, it’s great throughout.

Actually, you might be right there. The earliest US release I could find does seem to be 1979.

Talking Heads for me. Love the title as well.
Tom Petty. I remember seeing the Heartbreakers on Saturday Night Live that year (my father would tape the shows with one if them newfangled Betamax thingies, and I’d enjoy them over Sunday breakfast), and recognizing that these guys could walk that fine line between pop and rock as sweetly as anyone.
