Inspired by my viewing of Black Swan, I’d like to experience the traditional Swan Lake ballet, but from my living room in rentable DVD form, if possible. Any suggestions? ---

Interesting…I have a lot of ballet on DVD, but upon looking through my collection, it turns out I don’t have any **Swan Lake** s! The book I’ve always used to explore ballet recommends this one: [http://www.amazon.com/Tchaikovsky-Makarova-Dowell-Ballet-Covent/dp/B00008AOR4/ref=sr\_1\_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1296430483&sr=8-4](http://www.amazon.com/Tchaikovsky-Makarova-Dowell-Ballet-Covent/dp/B00008AOR4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1296430483&sr=8-4) But upon reading reviews and such, I personally am going with this one: [http://www.amazon.com/Tchaikovsky-Swan-Lake-Nathalie-Nordquist/dp/B00007M5JZ/ref=sr\_1\_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1296430248&sr=1-1](http://www.amazon.com/Tchaikovsky-Swan-Lake-Nathalie-Nordquist/dp/B00007M5JZ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1296430248&sr=1-1) So I can’t say I’m an informed viewer, but I think either one would be a pleasure to watch. ---

I was all excited because your first recommendation was searchable on Netflix, but the availability date is “unknown” (why do they even DO that?). I will put both on my Amazon wish list and if I ever get some rainy day money, I’ll purchase one or the other- thanks! ---

We _have_ to link to the classic [Swine Lake](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHbGqJ_MonU)!
