**Pardon the hijack…** **Malacandra** , I’m in the U.S. and I played when I was at University. The rules were that if a woman wanted to play a sport, and there wasn’t a women’s team, she was allowed to play with the men. I was a Tighthead Prop on the men’s side for one season. After which, I started a women’s side. The same thing happened to me when I used to row (at Uni as well). I was the Bowman, and the only woman, on the men’s team. **Carry on** P.S. It was great being the only female prop. The opposing team’s front row was always too scared\* to engage properly during a scrum, so 9 times out of 10 we were able to gain advantage of the ball. \*they didn’t want to hurt the little girl. 😃 ---

[hijack] **Granuaile** , good for you. Mind you, I used to go easy on small props _once_. After that, especially if you’re winning the scrums… But I never played mixed rugby; I think the RFU doesn’t allow it. I helped coach women’s rugby for a while, though. Cricket, too. [/hijack] ---
