[My brother and sister-in-law](http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b109/rmix/commissioning/?action=view¤t=jackandbern.jpg), stationed in Afghanistan. They’re home safe and sound, now. They were both in the reserves, and he got called up. She _volunteered_ to go with him. I’m very proud. ---

I love the Derry, NH photo in the OP! I didn’t take many photos in 2008. But I can never resist a photo thread, so from this year’s files I have judiciously selected the components of a triptych\* of me, my husband and my friend in various combinations in bed together. It was quite a thrill to finally catch one in the air with good lighting.
