Well, not _offended_ per se, but d’ya think I could persuade you to get rid of the spaces so your sig fits our extremely arbitrary, yet brutaly enforced “4-lines-in-a-sig-and-that’s-it”-rule? Thanks. 🙂 ---

He was so jealous that he literally worked Mozart to death, IIRC, and he suffered near crippling anguish from the fact that Mozart was so good and he wasn’t. So juxtaposing his murderous jealousy/depression/rage with such a typically cheery Smurf line was too funny. As far as sig. lines go, I think it’s Smurftastic! I may not be getting the actual joke, however. That’s been known to happen. ---

**The Smurfs and the Magic Flute** is a real movie: [http://us.imdb.com/Title?0086326](http://us.imdb.com/Title?0086326) I had read the play **Amadeus** and seen it twice by the time I first heard of this movie, and the lines in my sig popped into my head. The intended humor is partly Salieeri’s angst at being ignored by coupled coupled with the cutesy Smurf line, partly the clash between highbrow and lowbrow culture, and partly the fact that Mozart wrote “The Magic Flute”, of course, which sugested the whole thing in the first place. If you get the chance, see or read the play – it’s vastly different from the movie. More “theatrical”, and you really get inside Salieri’s madness, instead of seeing it from the outside, as the film always makes me feel. ---

I have several that I use in different places. Current fave from another message board is “Heaven doesn’t want me, and Hell is afraid I’ll take over”. For some reason, the crowd on the other board think it’s quite appropriate, but I’m sure they love me really. ---

I have absolutely no idea what it means (and I would like to) but I particularly like **Gorgon Heap** ’s “The continuing stoooOOOoory of a quack whose gone to the dogs!” It just makes me laugh for some reason. Maybe its the gooOOOOoogly oOOOoo’s ---
