Best Single Episode of an Otherwise Mediocre-to-Bad Series

Okay, I’m going out on a limb here, but if people can find three outstanding episodes of “Just Shoot Me,” doesn’t that shift it from “mediocre-to-bad” to “mediocre-to-kinda-good?” Despite the extraordinary lengths they went to cover up Laura San Giacomo’s bustline, and because of the hilarious Malick (Wow, an ex-Kemp staffer. I can see why she left politics.), George Segal (I always thought he was Jewish, but he was apparently raised Quaker. Explains the banjo.), and (cough) Spade, the show deserves a better rating.

I am gonna be given hell for this…but I don’t care.

The only episode of Seinfeld that I have ever even cracked a smile in is the spitting episode that parodies the JFK assassination.

A very funny episode of a series that definitely fits this posters bill of “mediocre-to-bad”.

I’ve mentioned this one before …

There’s an episode of the otherwise-wretched Arli$$ involving an NCAA official conducting an investigation of a legendary football coach. Instead of the coach being a slimeball providing his players with hookers and blow, it turns out that he was just trying to help a kid in need, rules be damned. The official, meanwhile, has revenge on his mind; years ago, he had been a runner at the school, but his scholarship was taken away so the almighty football team could have it.

Although I liked the show Millenium I only really remember one episode. It was the Christmas episode with Darren McGavin. During the time of the year when every show is doing their special version of a Christmas Carol, Millenium brought out maybe the most depressing episode of any TV show. In a good way. Good writing, good acting and an interesting take on the holiday.

Oh my that was my least favorite episode lol. It might have been an ok episode if not for Jason Alexander (who I usually tend to like).

They missed a call-back to a Robert Beltran role in the movie, “Night of the Comet.” For that reason, I found it anticlimactic. :frowning:

Just Shoot Me was never a fantastic show, but when it did fire on all cylinders, it was pretty good. In addition to the Donny episode, I would add the “Grinch” parody in a Christmas episode and the episode where Maya is dating the guy who thinks he’s Woody Allen and her life turns into “Annie Hall”.
