From the day it was released (on the Yellow Submarine album) I’ve considered it one of their ten best songs.

On an old R.E.M. website, someone started a thread “What is your LEAST favorite song by them?” Over and over again was “Airportman.” That’s probably my second favorite, after - see my username.
