Best spy films.

*Ronin *is definitely and unquestionably a spy film.

The Flint films were good Bond spoofs.

I seem to remember liking The Osterman Weekend

One of the last lines of the movie was Robert DeNiro admitting that he was still working for the CIA. Definitely a spy movie. The case had Marcellus Wallace’s soul in it.

“The Package” with Gene Hackman and Tommy Lee Jones is a good Cold War flick.

The Kremlin Letter (1970), directed by John Huston. It airs occasionally on Fox Movie Channel. An elite cast which features George Sanders in drag! If you do plan to watch it, though, I’d advise against reading anything about it, as pretty much everything I’ve encountered mentioned major plot spoilers.

The best James Bond 007 movie of the last 15 years was The Incredibles.

The Incredibles had everything you want in a Bond film–mad genius, secret base, flying submaries, femme fatale that falls for the hero…everything!

Except James Bond.

But it was still the best James Bond 007 film of the last 15 years.

Killer soundtrack, too.

I saw Farewell (original title L’affaire Farewell) on a trans atlantic flight and quite enjoyed it. Got me a copy of the DVD as well. It might not be your typical spy movie with suspense elements but I think it has a pretty realistic portayal on how the whole thing works.

Me. It’s my favorite Spy movie, and I too have noticed that most folks don’t seem to share my opinion of it. IMO it’s also Costner’s career-best performance, not that it matters.
