Hey! Hey! You! You! Get offa my cloud! And Wild Horses. Painted Black.
Idem, for the three of them ! (or hmm.. Paint it black ?) Plus “As tears go by” (makes me almost cry) I also like “Under my thumb”, but never paid attention to the lyrics.. ---

Well, probably _GImme Shelter_ but I’m a big fan of “It’s Only Rock & Roll”, too. There’s such a great rhythm to the lines _If I could stick my pen in my heart And spill it all over the stage Would it satisfy ya Would it slide on by ya_ The song sounds improvised on the spot every time I hear it. ---

Well, my username is my choice. 🙂 Lot of other good stuff though, with runnerups probably being “Brown Sugar” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”. Don’t like my choices: Well, don’t play with me, cause you’re playin’ with fire. 😛 ---
Okay – how about “Best Underappreciated Stones Album”? I’d nominate _Some Girls_.
How about just “Best Stones Album… Full Stop”? 🙂 For songs, I’d agree with _Gimme Shelter_ and put _Miss You_ beside it. ---

I’m rather surprised to discover that the earworm, for me, has turned out to be “Get Off of My Cloud.” (“Hey! [hey!] You! [you!] Get offa my cloud!”) ---

Glad to see some votes for Sway (high fives). I can’t come up with one. My list, in chronological order: Have You Seen Your Mother, etc Midnight Rambler (live) Gimme Shelter YCAGWYW Almost everything on Sticky Fingers, but especially Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’, with Bitch, Sway, Moonlight Mile and I Got the Blues close behind. That album is damnear perfect. Rip This Joint Tumbling Dice It’s Only Rock 'n Roll Shattered There’s a deep cut on (I think) Tattoo You called (don’t wanna be yo’) Slave that I really really like. ---

Gimme Shelter gets my vote. The intro is the best one (I’ve ever heard) on any rock recording. ---

**1. Gimme Shelter 2. Waiting on a Friend 3. Paint It, Black 4. Moonlight Mile 5. Satisfaction** (Admit that when you first heard it you thought this was the greatest song ever. Well it’s still great. We’re just all a little burned out on it.) ---

I’m partial to “Under My Thumb”-expresses my thoughts perfectly…about a bitchy ex-GF! :dubious: [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/best-stones-song-ever/371407.md?page=2)
