# best tasting toothpaste

I hate mint toothpaste (or gum). I usually use Closeup, but Tom’s cinnamon is good too. It tastes like actual cinnamon instead of like red-hots.

Never liked cinnamon as a flavor for toothpaste, though I agree the vanilla mint was good, but I think they took it off the market a couple of years ago, I don’t remember seeing it for at least a couple of years. Or perhaps they took it off the market in Connecticut?

I think it’s off everywhere. Somebody upthread mentioned they still have it at a site called [alice.com](http://alice.com), but I went there and it looks like you have to sign up/register to see what they have, so I didn’t check.

I really like the Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and Peroxide toothpaste, fresh mint variety. It doesn’t have a very strong mint flavor or sweet taste, and it’s plain old white stuff. That’s important to me because brightly colored gel tends to skeeve me out.

Close Up. Cinnamon toothpaste is the best, and Close Up is cheaper than the Crest cinnamon. I have sensitive teeth and Close Up doesn’t make me cry.

Not me. I lack any long range planning or self discipline. I live my life strictly on the principals of hedonism, instant gratification and sensual pleasures. So unless my toothpaste tastes like I am gargling with a mouthful of halloween candy I’m not interested.
If they ever invent a pill that cures obesity, and they make it taste like a deep fried snickers bar, I am going to eat 50 a day.

It’s like brushing my teeth with a Creamsicle, and it’s _glorious._

While I can understand that opinion in general, you’re saying you can actually stand that bubble gum flavor they use in almost all kids toothpastes? I’d rather have the baking soda.

Tooth brushing is a chore; I do it because I have to and, because, as DianaG said above, I like having teeth. I couldn’t care less what the toothpaste tastes like.
I currently use Tom’s of Maine. I don’t remember what flavor it is, even though I just brushed 30 minutes ago, only that it is some kind of mint…I think. The taste is not memorable, but also not overly sweet. It does have somewhat of a contrary aftertaste, but I don’t care enough to change it.
I usually grab a container of the first brand I come to in the supermarket; they all get the job done to pretty much the same extent as far as I’m concerned.

Not that I think anyone out there is actually taking my advice, but I noticed this morning that my beloved toothpaste makes no mention of containing peroxide. It’s just Advanced White fresh mint.

My favorite is Burt’s Bees Lavender Mint, but it’s so expensive that I don’t usually buy it.

I use Aquafresh all the time, and you can color me 😕 about that. “Tea?” “Tea-ish?”
Also, I had no idea Tom’s had a lavender toothpaste. Clearly I’m not paying enough attention. But then, I sorta boycott Tom’s now. Years ago they made Teh Bestest Tasting Toothpaste Evah. Then they - you see it coming? - changed the formula. What’s available now is still pretty good, but not like it was. Also, get offa my lawn.

On a tangent, I’ve also been using Biotene mouthwash for dry mouth. Although it does the job, the bottle says something like “contains bio-active enzymes found in saliva”, and the taste is so mild, I can’t shake the idea that I’m gargling with a bottle of someone else’s spit…

I use Crest (“So ain’t no cavity creeps in my grill” - Dr. Dre) Vanilla Mint and I found some just last week… in Canada. So that must be where it all went.

Another vote for Arm & Hammer. Been using it for so long I can’t stand the sweet taste of colgate, Crest, etc
