But in toons tunes Best cover version of a TV theme song: The New York Dolls’ “[Courageous Cat Theme](http://sg1.allmusic.com/cg/smp.dll?link=xihrczskesxdybumfpuz99d&r=20.asx)” (not released until 17 years after their demise). Best movie theme that became a cartoon: Henry Mancini’s Pink Panther Theme. Who recalls these lines? Don’t get left behind. Take a trip with us today. It starred Joe E. Ross ( **Car 54, Where Are You?** ) and Imogene Coca ( **Your Show of Shows** ). Howerver, IIRC, it was a prime-time show (Sunday nights, I believe), not a Saturday morning cartoon.Great theme song, though! ---

When you hear the horn, help is on the way so clap your hands and shout hooray! For the Wonderbug, the wonderful Wonderbug and Dr. Shrinker, Dr. Shrinker, he’s a madman with an evil mind Dr. Shrinker, Dr. Shrinker, he’s as crazy as you’ll ever find. and of course Electra Woman and Dyna Girl fighting all evil deeds each works for a magazine hiding the life she leads. ---

Sticking to cartoons and children’s shows, I often find that my fond memories of old shows derives more from the themesong/opening music/opening visuals than the actual show itself. For example, those old Marvel cartoons from the 60s are pretty horrible, “animated” in only the strictiest sense of the word, but they shined in my memory for years as forgotten gems because of catchy tunes like"When Captain America throws his mighty shieeeld!" and “Doc Bruce Banner, belted by gamma rays…” That said, in no particular order… 1. \*Here he comes; Here comes Speed Racer. He’s a demon on wheels. He’s a demon and he’s gonna be a chasin’ after someone./I] 2)_Marshall, Will, and Holly On a routine expedition, Met the greatest earthquake ever known…_ They actually changed the lyrics when Marshall (i.e. the father) was inexplicably replaced by Uncle Rick. 1. _Josie and the Pussycats. Long tails, and ears for hats._ Most “songs” heard on cartoons/kid shows that revolved around a band(unless they were based on real famous acts) made the Archies’ Sugar Sugar seem like A Day in the Life, but Josie could rock. 4)_We’re off to outer space. We’re leaving Mother Earth. To save the human race. Our Star Blazers_ Note for note and close to word for word to the original Space Cruiser Yamato theme. 1. _It takes all kinds of vegetables.
