Okay smart techies, I’m building my son a computer I have everything else I need but the motherboard. Looking for one under 100USD capable of overclocking nice but not mandatory. No need for onboard video, or audio but wouldn’t mind a decent audio because that would free up a PCI audio card. No ebay as returns on motherboards have been a 10% chance in my experience so prefer a reputable online/brick store. I would also prefer out of box 45nm support because I do not want to open another computer to get a 65nm out to bios flash the new mobo. At least one PATA is needed, and 1 PCI-E x16, firewire is not needed, full ATX but if good enough deal can utilize micro. I haven’t built one in years but I have upgraded close from the ground up recently, so any advice given would be appreciated in case I missed something. ETA: Reason I put it in the game room is because I see a lot of gamers in here, and no one knows how to build a system like a gamer. 🙂 ---

I think that questions about spec’ing out a system should likely be in IMHO due to the general interest (and not game-specific) nature of the topic. I’ll move it for you.
