You’ll also be about 2 minutes from the I-95/128 (most of the way it’s signed as 128, be aware) and Rt93 interchange. 93 south will get you into downtown Boston in about 15 minutes… off traffic.
Lots of nice things to do in that area, and the Jordans Furniture store is a local oddity that almost can’t be believed.
Driving into Boston is easy.
Parking in Boston is next to impossible, or else expensive.
If you’re in Wakefield, you can catch a train into the city from downtown.
Plenty to see in Boston. Last weekend we took MilliCal’s cousins in to walk the Freedom Trail. Even if you get there at night, you can at least see the outsides of things. Go walk down Newbury Street, from the Public Garden to Mass Ave. Lots of shops and restaurants. Go to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. Lots of small eateries, fancy restaurants, boutique stores, and clubs.
Go to the top of the Prudential Building. I don’t recommend it at night if you’re not familiar with the city, though. I took someone like that up there and it was meaningless to him. During the day, though, it’s great.
Go to the Museum of Science, or the Museum of Fine Arts.
Go to the theater district and see a show, or a comedy club.
Whatever you do, though, be advised that the subways stop running before 1 AM. I think the trains stop earlier. People have pleaded with the MBTA to keep the T running longer, but they say they need the night hours to clean the ways.
