Oh, that is so on-point. You’re completely right about that. And really, I don’t blame a brother for paying his CC debt or his mortgage. That is, after all, the practical thing to do. I just mentioned the giving as a suggestion to the OP.
But -and I hesitate to even say this- if I ever get hit in the ass w/ free money, I will give 1/2 of it away. Sometimes I give all of it. I figure that I didn’t have that $ to begin with; it was a windfall that came to me with no work and little investment of my own. I also know there’s a lot of people in my town/state/planet that don’t have half of what I do, even on their good days and my bad days. So, by me giving away half of it, we both (me and the other guy) win a little bit.
