To say nothing of the fact that success in life is not particularly tied to intelligence, but to other character traits like honesty, conscientiousness, hard work, ‘soft’ people skills, looks, willingness to take reasonable risks (and avoid unreasonable ones), temper, ability to defer pleasure, self control, and a host of other things. Of course if you go into a mentally challenging field high intelligence may be required, but even there plenty of smart people have fallen victim to other flaws.
In the future with an AI to act as an assistant, hard knowledge and intelligence will probably be less rewarded, and ‘soft skills’ and tacit kmowledge more rewarded.
