Aw, they’re missing B.F. Skinner’s [pigeon-guided missile](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B._F._Skinner#Pigeon_Guided_Missile)! Also, I think the soviets trained dogs by first starving them, and then hiding food under tanks; in combat situation, the (hungry) dogs were equipped with detonation packs which went off when the dog went under a tank. The “exploding chicken” is pretty good. A movie opening was delayed because of a scene with a bomb strapped to a chicken. I’m not sure why, but it seems someone thought the chicken was terrified of the bomb – as if it understood what explosives are. ---

Sorry to bump this thread but I just wanted to thank **WF Tomba** for posting it because I chose this topic for one of my assignments in Speech 101 class - an informative presentation. I was milling over what to do my assignment on and read this thread - it was just too cool a topic to pass up. I covered three kinds of exploding animals in the presentation, the exploding toad (I made a visual aid for this one using [this photo](http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200504/s1352292.htm)), the chicken-powered nuclear bomb, and the bat bomb. It was well received and the class seemed to enjoy it, I should get my grade back on Wednesday. 🙂 ---
