Not when you realize that The Flintstones is a post-apocalyptic future. See the world was literally bombed back into the Stone Age, and the inhabitants, dimly remembering the technology and society of 1950s America, emulated that society with the omnipresent animals and dinosaurs which had all been mutated into more robust forms by the radiation.
Eventually, the world recovered and advanced, reaching the Jetsons age…
I thought the Jetsons were the Flintstones past. Eventually that button pushing technology just makes the ability to destroy the world to easy and someone blows it all up. The Great Gazoo is one of the superevolved humans who had moved offworld before someone (probably Elroy) wiped everything out.
Never one of my favorites until I picked up a copy for $2 at CVS and brought it home for our Austrian roommate to watch.
He laughed outloud at Burgermeister Meisterburger’s name, at his henchman that wears that WWI German helmet, and when he first saw Burgermeister Meisterburger in his lederhosen (or whatever that outfit is supposed to be) he laughed and enigmatically remarked
“Oh, they’re Bavarian, that explains it.”
We asked what he meant and he said “Just look at him!” I didn’t ask for further explanation because he was totally engrossed in the tape and it was just so much fun watching with him.
Not sure of the exact title, but the South Park Christmas Special was hilarious!
I’m not talking about just one of their Christmas episodes–this was a special (I saw it first on pay-per-view on DirecTV a year or two ago). It included some of their Christmas episodes and also the creators (Parker and Stone) giving live action segues between bits. The South Park Christmas songs are so funny–though not for the easily offended. They include Mr. Mackey singing the Ringing of the Bells (“Hear the bells say, ding-dong mmkay”) and the Lonely Jew on Christmas song by Kyle. My all-time favorite, though, is Merry Fucking Christmas sung by Mr. Garrison. I couldn’t stop laughing through the whole special.
I forgot South partk each is better then the year before. I know we have a Mr. Hanky the Christmas Pooh. But this year with The Pooh cho express, On steven , fluffy, chantily, and Montel. You owe Santa presents.
