How do we know Gus is currently selling cocaine? I thought it was already meth.

The shipment that he had to split with Hector was cocaine.

That too was cocaine. Mike got it from Gus’s doctor (Barry Goodman) in Mexico.

Yeah, not totally sympathetic to Jimmy here. On the other hand, it’s sort of a victimless crime. Hope the ladies take Irene back into the fold.

I thought Kim was a goner. First they had all of that tension when she was at the oil field. I knew that something was going to happen when she was driving at the end. I was bracing myself the whole time.

Now Jimmy has a cool million (assuming that something else doesn’t get fouled up). He has plenty of time to start anew.

Thats not the way law of evidence works.

> [@](#):

Humans normally have two lungs. Its such a well known fact that it does not need proof. [The doctrine is called Judicial Notice.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judicial_notice) If there are doubts, you can always introduce an MRI, CT Scan or Sonogram of your lungs and a Doctor’s testimony to that effect. In reality this would usually be done when a person has some sort of disease or disorder which means they don’t have two lungs, one was removed for instance.

> [@](#):
>
> “Hey, my grandpa was in WWII at Bastogne!” “How do you know? Did you see him there?”

You could introduce his service record into evidence as well as the Official War History of his unit.

See Judicial notice above. Or you could get a subject matter expert to testify.

What are you even talking about? Who is talking law of evidence? Or Judicial notice? How does a subject matter expert “know” if there are 2 protons in a helium atom? According to some, you can’t “know” anything unless you see it. The service record could be doctored. You didn’t SEE the person create it. The Official War History could be made up. You didn’t SEE the unit do any of the things in the history, so you can’t KNOW that they are true. Anyway, you can argue all you want about courts, and evidence, and burden of proof, or Judicial notice or whatever. Kim knew that Jimmy did it. That’s it. If you asked Kim on her deathbed if she knew Jimmy did it, she would say “Yes” That’s what I believe. It’s a TV show for God’s sake! 🙂

Could they foreshadowed that event any more strongly? Dozing off in her car before meeting her client, losing control of her car and nearly hitting an oil rig . . .

Not that I minded. It was superbly done, IMHO.

The fact that people are still arguing that “know” requires a higher standard of proof than it takes to get a guilty conviction in court (“beyond a reasonable doubt”) is pretty amazing.

> [@DSeid](#):
>
> Anyway, speaking only for myself, I am not arguing about it at all. I merely expressed my disbelief that you felt the need to snarkily bring the subject up _again_ in a superfluous aside and my incredulity that you then had the chutzpah to question why _others_ were bringing it up to argue about again and to then claim that other posters have stated things that they did not say.

I’m going to continue to discuss the show, and the fact that some people on this thread like to use and argue an absolutely bizarre definition of ‘know’ instead of the normal meaning, or like to argue that there is a specific legal meaning of ‘know’ that must be used if a show is about lawyers even though they can’t cite the definition and even though people are clearly using the normal meaning of the term, is not going to make me stop discussing major plot points. Also, I have no idea what you mean by “other posters have stated things that they did not say”, I provided quotes.

Not doing a big play by play this time (well, maybe later) but I’m really interested in how the Hamlin McGill and McGill drama plays out. Does Jimmy forcing the early settlement actually help Howard (by giving HHM more cash flow to buy out Chuck) or does Chuck suing interfere with Jimmy’s payout? And now that Howard has had enough of Chuck but his baby HHM is in danger, will he turn to Gollum for help getting Chuck off of his case?

I don’t think Howard or Chuck really thought of the Sandpiper residents as people, they see it more as two big companies clashing with either interesting legal arguments or money to be made. Jimmy going to the residents to get the result he wants is almost certainly completely off of either one of their ‘radars’.

Yes, it’s like earlier in the season where she took a nap and they did a jump cut to capture the feeling of going to sleep, then waking up without recognizing intervening time. Kim had just pulled an all-nighter, was running on coffee and no-doz (you see the bottle in her car earlier in the episode) and fell asleep at the wheel, then ran off the road. I really like how this fits perfectly with what we’ve seen of Kim but came as a surprise, I certainly wasn’t expecting a car accident to slow her down.

> [@Richard\_John\_Marcej](#):

> It’s as if Jimmy pulled a Chicago Sunroof on poor Irene

I think this is a huge step on road to the Saul Goodman we see in breaking bad. Previously Jimmy has been willing to scam jerks and dishonest people, and he’s done things that he thought of as harmless that really weren’t (like the Davis and Main exit), but this is the first time he’s gone to someone who trusts him and really twisted the knife. He can cover in his head to a degree with ‘well, they’re better off getting money now’, but I think that manipulating all of Irene’s friends to hate her is significantly different and more nasty than acting weird to get let go from Davis and Main, or altering documents so that his hateful, vindictive brother looks foolish. And this is another great surprise, I was expecting the mall walker outfit to end in another slip and fall.

Regarding the discussion about Gus and the laundry: I’ve been under the impression that the laundry isn’t a business itself, but rather was owned by the Los Polos Hermanos chain and used to clean uniforms, towels, etc. for the restaurants.

</div>

Random thoughts:

Hamlin doesn’t want to settle the Sandpiper case only because he knows Jimmy stands to gain a +$1M. Jimmy’s desire for the payout is trumped by Hamlin’s disdain for Jimmy.

When Jimmy was talking to Kim about celebrating the impending settlement, I just kept on thinking that he shouldn’t count his chickens before they’ve hatched.

So Jimmy rigged the bingo game to allow Irene to win. However, he ran after Irene soon after the game . . . did he remove the magnetic balls from the machine? If not, wouldn’t the very next game produce the same results?

Also, WHEN Irene finally reconnects with her friends & they start talking . . . won’t it only be a matter of time before they figure out Jimmy has been manipulating them? I mean, all Irene has to say is how Jimmy gave her those shoes, after Jimmy specifically told the girls she probably bought them. Then it would all start to unravel.

Nacho’s father threw him out before making a promise. I think he’ll try to do the right thing, which will end up getting him killed.
