I thought that referred to whoring, not gambling. Am I mis-remembering?
Turns out the net take from the pool was $160. He’d actually won $100 for having the right numbers in 2 quarters, but they’d used an online site, so it cost him $5 per winning quarter, and subtracting the $30 bet, he’s $160 ahead. And subtracting the $6 cruise loss, that’s $154 ahead. 😃 So he slightly more than tripled his money - not bad for a random event.
I’ve been knitting. I did clean the cat box and take out the trash, but nothing else chore-like today. Lunch was a bowl of soup. Back to my knitting and Netflix. Life is good.

He’s out of town and hasn’t been able to claim the cash yet… but I like soup, especially on a cold day like today, so 😛
Just talked to the voice mail of the title clerk at our credit union. The promised title has not yet been sent to us, so the dealer who took our car in trade cannot yet sell it. The title was to have been mailed to me last Wednesday. I am miffed.
Back to my knitting, as I await a call back from the clerk. _Grumble grumble_

I posted in the old MMP this mornin’ just like it was a new MMP. Oh well, since I’m not irkin’ this week it’s not like it’s a _real_ Monday for me. 😃
Today we managed brunch and then needed a nappy poo cause well, y’all know how just exhaustin’ brunch can be. I shall prepare dindin, country fried steak 'n gravy, green beans, squishes, smashed **N.O.T.** and bizkits. At some point OYKW must return to his place cause he has to go back to irk tomorrow poor thing. I foresee yahdirk tomorrow as it’s supposed to be a pleasant upper 60’s day as well as sunny. I know how to take time off and live it up do I not!

**Soapy** come in and vent. We listen. Plus what happens in the MMP stays in the MMP.
Yay for all the various stooper bowl winnin’s. I did manage to look in the paper this mornin’ to find out who won. Rah.

I started a thread wrt what is occupying most of my time these days. I also had to put a pommie down last week, he’s buried in the garden, and I already have a rose to plant over him.
One of the few things to make me smile lately are the pokes I get from one of my main mmp boyfriends at another site, and he knows who he is. ;):p:D Thanks, man!

Oh my,\*\* LiLi\*\*! Hope everything gets organized quickly. I’ll be watching your blog for updates. Lots and lots of good thoughts, prayers and hugs headed your way.
It’s been very pleasant here as well. Sunny and in the high 40s (Amerrkun degrees). Went for a walk after I got home from work and it was still light at the end of the walk. (It was just starting to get dark and the moon had risen quite a bit, but still…)
Hey **wiki** , I already replied to your thread, but here’s some more hugs. Have you been following [**faithfool’s** thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=633592)? Sounds like she’s dealing with a bunch of similar issues with her husband. So sorry.
Irk was less irksome today. I think leaving town over the weekend helped.
I’m sure I’ve forgotten something. Will check in later when I remember what it was.

**Gotti** , the Cottonfield County Traffic Court Trial Of The Century is Wednesday. I have to be there at 0930, and I plan to plead guilty Guilty! GUILTY!!! to the heinous crime of 61 in a 45. I’ll let you know how it went, and if I’ll have to do hard time.
Actually, I’m expecting fine and court costs totaling somewhere in the neighborhood of $200 when it all settles out.

So, taking Dad to what was supposed to be his first physical therapy appointment for the lower back pain he’s been suffering for a little over a month now (except now that the doctor has decided Something Must Be Done, somehow, the back pain isn’t so terrible anymore) . . .
First, Google maps lies about where the office is. Second, no, bitch, it’s not “right by the hospital”. It’s a quarter of a mile away, off a residential street, set back by a long driveway, and completely out of sight. Also, if your office hours and phone message say you’re there from 8 a.m., but you don’t pick up the phone until 9 a.m., I hate you.
Then, I’ve got Dad yelling at me while I’m trying to clear traffic. “Look out! Look out!” Because being yelled at while driving, makes my driving better.
Oh, and it’s not an appointment. It’s to fill in paperwork. Which could be done any time the office is open, so why did they say “be here at 8:30!”? Because they deserve every damn non-lethal form of humiliating punishment the SDMB could invent in one day, that’s why.
Also, Dad no longer remembers our street number or ZIP code correctly. Kind of a big deal. He asked me to look over the paperwork, and when I did - and found many omissions and mistakes (No operations, Dad? Seriously? You don’t remember the one twenty-five years ago that put you in the hospital for six weeks where they roto-rootered out _your fucking carotid arteries_?) - he yelled at me for that.
Long story short (“Too late!”), we got home, I tried to take a break, asked Mom to call him to remind him to take his 1 p.m. meds, only to discover at 3:30 that he hadn’t taken them, played the good daughter, took him his meds, got yelled at fucking _again_, and yelled right back at him.
Among the phrases out of my mouth:
“Don’t ask me for help and then yell at me when I help.”
In response to “This is my house,” “Great. I’ll go upstairs, pack a bag, call Mom, say goodbye, and be out of here in an hour. THIS IS MY HOUSE TOO!”
“You treat waitresses and cashiers with more courtesy than you do me.”
And,
“No one in my life treats me with as much disrespect as you do. If they did, they’d be out of my life. The only reason you’re still in my life is because you’re my father and my mother’s husband.”
Yet, I’m factually wrong, according to him. When asked how he could show me respect, and I told him one thing he couldstop yelling at me while I’m driving, he said no. So, I said I would no longer drive him anywhere, ever, at all. Which made him sad. Dad has a sad.
Yeah, well, Dad can have his fucking sad and build a damn couch fort with it, because he’s due for another memory test at the end of this month, and Mom and I are both going to tell the doctor to pull his driver’s license, and if I have to hide his car beneath the Santa Monica pier, that’s what I’ll fucking do. The invertebrates down there will make better, safer use of it than him.
If it were just me and Dad, I’d yell right back at him, and if he has a sad, boo-fucking-hoo. But, he’s going to suck Mom into his sad, and she’s going to play peacemaker, even when it stresses her out, and she’s the productive member of the family who ought to be allowed to put her feet up and sip whisky when she gets home.

We’ve just received almost $1000 in refunds from my Health Savings Account! A few weeks ago, I disputed (actually, just questioned) a charge from the anesthesiologist that was at my colonoscopy. The nice lady at my insurance company said something to the effect that I shouldn]t have had to pay _anything_! The doctor’s office had said I wasn’t eligible for a preventative “routine” exam, because I had other symptoms. The insurance company said I was eligible for “diagnostic and routine” charges of NOTHING for this procedure.
Yay!
