[NY Times obit](http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/12/arts/12page.html) I’m sad. She had a tough life when all was said and done, and I can only hope that, in her later years, she understood and appreciated what an influence she had on a lot of popular culture. ---

It’s interesting that she didn’t get into erotic modeling till she was in her 30’s. I wonder if that would be possible today, other than amateurs posting on the web. ---

Sorry to see her go. The very enjoyable film _[The Notorious Bettie Page](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0404802/)_ portrayed Bettie as an innocent who just didn’t think there was anything wrong with nudity, and considered the “erotic” photos she posed for as a silly goof. As far as I know, Bettie herself was OK with the film, and watching it might be a good memorial. ---

Come on, you “senior citizens”! 😉 Time to fess up!😃 Seriously, I understand she spent her last years very happily on a farm, and I count myself a fan of this very mysterious beauty. Q ---
