I guess you are not aware that George H. W. Bush was a Republican himself. The point being that Bush was pilloried by his own party.
Why are we assuming the environmental bloc is going to have the kneejerk reaction of “Biden broke his promise!! I’m staying home in 2024!” These guy might be slightly more tunnel-visioned than the bulk of the Democratic Party, but they’re not MAGAts. Unlike that group, they can count to eleven without having to take off their shoes. They might just do some research and come to the conclusion that, once again, Biden made the best of an unfavorable situation.
Environmental groups as a whole, probably not. But individual environmentalists, I’m sure some.
