I’m very disappointed in Biden. During the election campaign, they kept hyping up how Biden is a supposed gaffe machine. When he was elected vice-president, I was expecting him to be an endless source of entertainment. How many gaffes has he actually made? This is what, the first or second? There have at least been few enough that The Onion felt the need to make [this video](http://www.theonion.com/video/gaffeprone-biden-embarrasses-nation-yet-again-by-s,14377/). I was promised dozens of hilarious gaffes per year, but all I got was people _saying_ that he makes a lot of gaffes. Now we finally have a gaffe, but all I can think is “Jeez. Took you long enough.”. ---

He sticks his foot in his mouth from time to time, like most windbags do, but yes, the press really overplayed its hand on Biden during the election. He’s not out there constantly saying funny things. He just won’t shut up, and once in a while it’s embarrassing to the administration. I think that’s pretty much how it goes with Vice Presidents. They don’t do many newsworthy things, so the press winds up treating them like stock characters. The most common one of those is the bumbling idiot who has nothing to do and was only on the ticket for electoral balance. Of course that didn’t quite fit Dick Cheney. 😉 All that said, yes, this is funny. Obama has big ears- how hard would it have been to _whisper into the one that was farther away from the microphone_? ---

Heh, I think its funny cause it conjures the picture of Biden over-reacting because the signing ceremony is the first time someone bothered to tell him about the Health Care bill his administration has been trying to pass for the last year. Selecting Biden as his VP is the smartest move Obama ever made. There is no right wing nutjob crazy enough to take any action that might possibly lead to Biden taking the Oath of Office. Talk about an insurance policy written in gold. Comedy gold. ---

I liked the movement to add this to the list of sweeping government reforms like the Square Deal, New Deal, New Frontier, etc. The Big Fucking Deal. Put it in the history books. ---

Guess I’m the only one here who mourns the passing of decorum in politics. Guess I can go with the flow. You can’t miss what you never had. But, you know, when people at least pretended to have some class I think there may have been less corruption. Don’t know if that’s true or not, but if I have to choose, I’ll take my corruption with - - - a touch of class, please! ---

Eh, while there may or may not be less decorum now as compared to times past, I don’t think Biden accidently standing too close to a mic when saying a naughty word is part of that. Plus, go google for clips of President Johnson’s Oval Office tapes. I doubt Biden is anywhere near as vulgar as his predecessor from 50 years ago. And if you think thats impressive, I hear Nixion used to swear for 18 minutes straight! ---

My comment stands. It’s probably a generational difference. I don’t recall Nixon ever saying anything near a mike during a national broadcast. My point about discretion was overlooked. That sort of carelessness can be one red flag of carelessness which carries over into one’s work habits. It’s my observation that people who are careful make good employees. ---
