What a great guy, he is not a monster like Trump, putting kids in cages. Amazing how he had acceptable housing built in such a short time. Can’t wait to see the new facilities that are so much better than the ones Trump used. ---

Do you contend that these include cages, or other unhumanitarian treatment? The article seems to claim otherwise. > “HHS is mindful of these children’s vulnerability, and our priority is the safety and wellbeing of each child in our care. It also says that the other aspect Trump was criticized for—separating children from their families—will not happen. > A White House spokesperson said that it’s not this administration’s policy to expel children apprehended at the border, a departure from the Trump administration’s posture. “The Border Patrol will continue to transfer unaccompanied children to the HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement so they may be properly cared for in appropriate shelters, consistent with their best interest,” the spokesperson said. So, no, it does not appear like Biden is being a monster like Trump was on this issue. No separating children from their families, and no putting them in inhumane conditions. You appear to be using bumper sticker politics rather than caring about any of the nuances. ---

So was there concern for conditions when the 2014 picture was taken of two children sleeping on the floor behind chain link fencing? I would bet the management would claim yes. ---

You need to be realistic. If the maximum is zero, then the Biden administration should not use the overflow facilities aka cages. ---

And if it hadn’t been for Biden voters, Trump would still be inflicting his dickish and cruel family separation policy on children at the border. Goodness knows the Biden administration is far from perfect, and so was the Obama administration. But at least they weren’t tossing all standards of decent governance out the window just to appeal to a voter base (in every sense of the term) that enjoys seeing immigrant children treated with deliberate cruelty.
