It would be nice if the moderator asks Trump a question about battery powered boats and sharks. or maybe one about how much water is needed to wash dishes in a washing machine, or how much lather he likes on his hair. Just let him go on for two minutes on these topics. ---

I imagine CNN will make the debate freely available on their stream like they do with other major events so I might check in once in a while, but I can only take Trump in small doses without getting ill. And despite some fanciful speculation I don’t expect anything momentous to happen. It’s likely to be fairly boring, unless one considers Trump’s outrageous lying to be entertaining. ---

Johnson knows that as a Republican his job is to parrot Convict Donald’s talking points, but as Congress’ answer to Ned Flanders, he actually seems to take his religious beliefs at least _kinda_ seriously and isn’t comfortable baselessly accusing Biden of being on magical anti-dementia drugs that would pretty much guarantee the Nobel Prize for whoever actually discovered them. So he’s playing along in the mildest way possible lest Baby Jesus get mad at him. ---

I hate TV in general so I don’t even have cable, but if I did I wouldn’t be able to stand sitting in front of a TV for 90 minutes of which roughly half was occupied by the mendacious whining of an orange felon. So I’ll catch bits of it on CNN’s stream and most of the rest from this thread and news reports. As I said earlier, I don’t expect anything momentous, but as Trump descends into dementia and paranoia he’s proven increasingly prone to making a total ass of himself, so there’s at least faint hope of some sort of spectacle, though I don’t think it’s likely. . ---

Oh noes, Biden might consume _caffeine_!!! 🙄 If every accusation really is a confession, I wonder what the other guy will be consuming. I haven’t decided if I’m watching or not. I’m sort of expecting to see a spectacle every time the con’s microphone is muted, but I also can’t stand to hear him speak. At the same time, if his speech has gotten as bad as I’ve been led to believe, I don’t see how captioning can keep up with him. ---

I’ll be watching. I want to see if the muting system works as planned: Biden speaks to the question, while Trump is seen playing his accordion, and moving his mouth, but cannot be heard. Besides that, I do want to hear what each has to say. ---

Here’s my prediction; after the debate, Trump will publicly whine that the system that assures that both candidates be heard and that it’s a two-sided debate led to a one-sided debate where he couldn’t be heard. ---
