Inspired by [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=12662019&posted=1#post12662019). Hetero women: What is your general preference with regard to the size of a guy’s balls? Any thoughts on preferred shape, character, etc.? Gay guys: What do you prefer? ---

No real size preference, although if they are Wolfman-style hairy, that’s slightly off-putting. ---

I put “It depends.” Generally, I have no preference, as their size makes no difference to me one way or the other. But one guy I dated had considerably larger balls than I’d seen before (or since), and I found them kind of gross. I mean, we still had sex and whatnot, but I didn’t particularly like looking at them. ---

I can’t imagine caring about such a thing. No preference. Although now that it’s been mentioned, I think overly large ones would be gross. ---

I don’t really care, but I think it could be off-putting if they’re wildly out of proportion with everything else. ---

I pay attention to them, but I have never paid that much attention to them to start a ball size comparison chart. ---

I didn’t realize that they move until a few years ago. Did you know that? They kind of sit there and _writhe_ amongst themselves. It’s fascinating. ---

It depends. I think they should be in proportion with everything else. Not too hairy, especially if my SO wants me to pay closer attention to them. I also prefer sacs that are a little snug looking, instead of hanging like an overly loose plastic bag. ---

Yeah, I’m with Butterflies. Actually, I’m more of the opinion that they could just go away and I really wouldn’t care too much. Of course, they should be gone on every guy then, not just one. :smack: ---

You do realize, I suppose, that this is entirely dependent on things like ambient temperature, and also on the state of arousal? So if you are seeing them hang down in an unappetizing manner, you probably have the opportunity to, at least temporarily, change their position. You didn’t ask me, but I go with what seems to be the general concensus: proportional in size, and less hairy rather than more. Slightly out of proportion is also ok, but not noticeably grotesquely large (may be a sign of an unfortunate condition). And what that other gay guy said is strictly personal preference, it is not a universal gay thing. Roddy ---
