I suppose I can understand it though, Britney is nothing but a hot body with next to no talent…she’s now worth millions, it’s impressive really (in a sad sort of way). I’m also more willing to believe Justin. We’ll probably get a good idea by their behavior in the coming weeks. ---

For my fantasy league team I picked Alison, Dana, Jun, and Scott (simply on the basis of how much I hate his hat) – they seem like they’ll provide the most drama (and thus the most points) the first week or so. Yee ha! I don’t mind proselytizing for “Amazing Race,” but “Big Brother” is my true guilty pleasure. (No one’s openly gay? No Bucky? No Marecellas? **le sigh** ) ---

I saw about two minutes when they were all picking rooms. The Asian woman is cute when the camera is far away from her and one of the woman had rather large breasts. I then went back to playing Majora’s Mask. I might watch a little this season, but I prefer your recaps. They’re much funnier. ---

I like the idea of just keeping one long-ass thread. Then we don’t have to wait to see if someone else starts a thread before we post…plus we can post during the show or post spoilers from the internet feed. I think I hate that Allison the most, although it’s a close call between her, Jun and the Johnny Fever guy. There’s something _really_ irritating about a guy that wears a touque and never takes it off. He must be bald or something. And Allison…ugh…“My boyfriend is going to be so hurt.” Hurt? Hurt? Why would he be hurt? What is he a total psycho? My guess is that she’s terrified about what the ex is going to reveal about her on the show. The ex-ranger guy doesn’t have to keep reminding everybody that he was a ranger either. You’re a tough guy we get it. I’d like to see that karate woman kick his ass. ---

I’m still puzzled by that…is it even possible, given the time frames involved in training for special forces and then going through the discharge process, for him to have actually _been_ an Army Ranger? He’s 21. You can’t get into the Army until you’re 18. That means he went through special forces training, did at least one tour of duty, then got discharged all within 3 years. I’ll admit that I know next to nothing about the details of military training, etc., but it just doesn’t sound right to me. ---

Ugh… **Diogenes** has a point, too. Big Brother is inherently different from Survivor in that it _has_ live feeds and therefore there is the capacity for contant, continual updates from those who couldn’t resist the siren song of RealOne. Part of the fun of the “Big Brother on the SDMB” thing is the ongoing commentary. ---

May semi-lurkers vote? I think I’d prefer one long-ass thread. Those who care will be following it as it goes along, and those who don’t won’t be reading it anyway. Some episodes just ain’t that interesting, and will only get a couple of posts, not really worth a whole thread. I think it will be **less** confusing to have a single thread – no “um, what was last night’s date?” stuff. ---

I may or may not get last night’s and tonight’s synopses up by Monday…I’m unexpectedly going away for the weekend and I’m not sure if I’ll get everything done for last night’s before I leave tomorrow. ---

First 3 years? Unless they changed the rules 4 years was minimum (You could always ‘bootstrap’. Partial service in full military and the rest in the guard. Second, as you pointed out, timing is all wrong. You have 8 weeks basic training, then off to school for your specialty. Now if you are a Ranger. From what I remember it is almost a year of solid training. Secondly, anyone I know that went on to become a Ranger, has chosen it to be a career path. Not something you do then drop out of. Plus IIRC, you don’t just say you are going to be a ranger, you are selected. ---

Jun gives “shallow” a whole new meaning. Her “She’s 33, so she’s at her peak on the way down” quote is priceless though. As is her racism against her own race. Is there a word for that? Bartender – uh, are you cold? Is that why you have to wear a knit cap all the time? Or as has been mentioned, are you balding and embarrassed about it? FBI Guy. How old is he again? What’s with him being the single oldest housemate? It seems to me like he won’t last long because everyone else will think he’s like having dad around. Crying Girl. Oh how hard to be young and naive. But very entertaining though, weepy weepy. Who think an Ex or two is going to hook up with one of the first 8 in the house? That would be some great tension. ---
