I thought you would get it the wrong way around: it is not for the individual to implement. It is for the governments. And they won’t, because they don’t have to. You (we all, in fact) should have started from the beginning demanding privacy by desing. As we did not it has been mission creep ever since.

Imagine how too late it is that despite it being too late people still don’t realize the need to be parsimonious with their data. Because “it is only me”, “I am not important” and “I have nothing to hide”. Even if those premises were right (and they are not) quantity becomes a new quality pretty fast at the state and social media levels.

If a government can’t stay in the shadows from a nefarious other government, what’s an individual to do?
Never go online or outside your house?
Start shooting out cameras? Don’t answer questions to law enforcement?
Yeah, you might find yourself photo’d and fingerprinted against your will. How’s that for doxxing? (And if you know where to look, mug shots are very available for the world to see)
We have to move around in this world. You can mitigate some things but most things you cannot. You have to give ID to access many things.
