Is anyone else watching this? I’ve been trying to but it’s really getting on my nerves. It’s mostly because it is so pretentious. ‘Big History reveals’ this and ‘Big History reveals’ that. The connections it claims to reveal are tenuous at best and everything is dumbed down to a ridiculous degree. The old James Burke _Connections_ program was light years better than this. ---

It’s one of a very few actual science shows on the science channels. I like it. It sort of reminds me of Connections, only not as engaging. ---

I’m annoyed with it too, but for a slightly different reason: there’s almost NO content. Between the commercials and all of the previews and recaps, there’s like 5 minutes of actual program. It’s certainly no Connections. ---

They do point out things I hadn’t considered earlier, but yeah, at times they do stretch points … like going back to the Big Bang to explain why most things can’t fly (“The answer is … _gravity_.”)
