# Big Trouble in the World Crime League

I’ve read various reports on whether “Big Trouble in Little China” was supposed to be the sequel to “The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension”. The end of Banzai had the statement that the sequel was supposed to be “Backaroo Banzai Versus The World Crime League” ([cite](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086856/crazycredits)), but never got made since the first film flopped. IMDB and other places used to say that the script got turned into “Big Trouble in Little China”. [This](http://www.figmentfly.com/bb/q12.html) site says no, but that the script for BTLC, originally a western, was adapted by the director of ABBAED, which certainly gives it a similiar flavor as Banzai, if not a semi-sequelish feel. What’s the truth?
