Does anybody else think Big Valley Freakout would be an excellent Dopername?
Nick Barkley, Adam Cartwright, those were the guys. Heath and Little Joe? Pretty boys. Bonanza was never quite the same after Adam left for Africa. And Audra was a spoiled brat.
I watched The Big Valley some, but not with the regularity of Bonanza. Of course, that was probably my dad’s choice. He got the TV when he wanted it.
I never actually thought about where the show was set when I was a kid, but I did get kind of excited when I visited California at barely nineteen and passed the sign for Stockton.
I always remember the show they wen they introduced Heath. But mostly I’m here to shamelessly plug my location field - - - - - - >
Does anyone remember High Chaparrel? Now Buck was the pretty boy on that show, but Manuelito always had that wicked twinkle in his eye, like a dirty uncle.

I loved High Chapparal. And Laredo, anyone else watch that?
I watched a lot of Big Valley, too. Not so much Bonanza - it wasn’t one of the westerns rotated through in the after-school time slot.
The thing with Big Valley vs. Bonanza is that there were what? Two ro three seasons of Big Valley? As opposed to like 15 of Bonanza. So watchign them in reruns, you’ve seen all the Big Valley episodes a gazillion times but the Bonanza episodes only a smattering of times so Big Valley really stick sin your mind. That, and Barbara Stanwyck’s amazing over-emoting.
BTW, I’m unabashedly a Heath/Little Joe fangirl. Young Lee Majors & Michael Landon were so dreamy…
I blame The Big Valley for making me think Gaucho pants were cool. Did women really wear them in that time period or was that a Hollywoodism so they could get their female stars to ride horses without having to deal with big skirts?
One of my friends always preferred High Chaparrel to Bonanza or Big Valley, because of Manuelito.
Which of those shows had the nitro in the hearse ‘because that was the smoothest ride’?
I always thought Babara Stanwick was much hotter than Audra.
What?? No love for “Lancer”?
