It’s creepy as hell and twice as cool. It seems so alive, the way it was struggling desperately to remain on its feet when it was on the ice was like a deer or something. Freaky. ---

I’m already trying to come up with strategies for defeating these things in case there’s a second American revolution and the government tries to use them against us. Narrow, but deep holes in the ground? So its legs would get stuck? Maybe covered up with leaves so its operators wouldn’t see them? Wires or steel cables stretched across a road to trip its legs? That version they showed looked like it would be easy to destroy with a shotgun or a decently powered rifle. If there were armored versions made, a grenade would probably do it. There’s a limit to how strong they could make those legs and have them still be agile. Once the legs are gone, that’s it for the Big Dog. Another option would be to deliberately lure the Big Dog into an area that was booby-trapped with hidden but highly toxic substances, say a shallow pool of water polluted with toxic waste. The robot would return to its operators, who would then sicken and die from the poison. ---

Creepy that they put hair on its legs. It can jump pretty high too. And hop along pretty fast. Looks faster than it’s walk. ---
