# Biggest TV husband-wife discrepancies

You know of what I speak. Guys on TV with girlfriends/wives that are way, way, way, _way_ out of their league in every sense. Intelligence, kindness, physical attractiveness, and every other aspect of a person you could think of.
There are too many examples to list, but the worst offender in my mind must be _According to Jim_. We have an ugly, overweight, stupid, narrowminded, unpleasant slob, married to a smoking hot, bright, good-natured, kind woman. I mean seriously. Does this happen _anywhere_ outside of arranged marriages?
Any worse examples out there?

Nah. Paul may have been a bit dense, but he wasn’t a fat, ugly slob. Nor was he mean or outright stupid.

:eek: I’m officially surprised by the first three responses…
Older guy marrying young wife is hardly an unheard of phenomenon. And if the older guy is Gary Cooper or Humphrey Bogart (the latter, I believe managed to land a much younger wife IRL).
And the Buchmans seemed a fairly matched pair.

I’m going to gamble that there are more than two people who’ll remember Xavier Cugat. He had some bodacious women as wives. I can only name two offhand: Charo and Abbe Lane. All I can say is old Xav must have known some neat tricks beyond playing Latin music.

Lois is a former model, born into the wealthy Pewterschmidt family of Newport RI while Peter is a barely functioning retard.

Agreed. As hot as Leah Remini is on \*King of Queens \* (not that I can stand to watch two minutes of that show), Lois Griffin is the hottest woman on TV with the most going for her, who married a fat, lazy, stupid, mean-spirited loser.

Eh, I don’t know. Doug is cute, he’s just overweight. And he’s a really nice guy. She’s good looking (and not so much in the last few seasons), but she’s a bitch.
On one episode, Doug said something like, “I’m fat, you’re mean, it evens out.” I thought that was pretty accurate.
