The facts are that Clinton was on his plane. A witness says he was with young girls who she THINKS were underage. It is a fact that Epstein did have sex with underage girls(he was convicted of said offense). Yeah, a reasonable person might conclude that it looks bad. There’s certainly enough evidence to keep him out of the White House. I bet you Dershowitz would never get confirmed as a Supreme Court Justice given the same evidence(and the evidence for him is pretty much the same). Oh wait, I forgot, we actually hold SCOTUS justices to standards! One sexual harassment complaint led to serious opposition to Clarence Thomas’ nomination from the same people who gleefully sent a much worse offender to the White House. ---

No. This is kinda like Republicans and the hypocrisy issue. It’s why Republicans tend to suffer worse consequences from sexual scandals than Democrats and end up having to resign quickly. They are the party of family values, and it won’t do for candidates to preach family values while cheating on their wives. But by the same token, you can’t claim you’re a champion of women when you let your husband get away with treating the as pieces of meat. Unless of course we’re going to say that personal conduct doesn’t matter, in which case it doesn’t matter for Republicans either. ---
