I never thought the guy was funny from the very beginning of his career. He has worked for some worthwhile charities though so I give him props there. ---

My all time favorite was side two of 200 MPH. (Sorry for no link, but I’m sure it’s out there) Oh, and the Noah jokes. Man, I loved these. ---

Man, I love some of the older Bill Cosby. Grew up watchin’ Fat Albert and borrowed every comedy record of his from the library. Never was a big fan of the cosby show however… kinda know Bill more as a comic from the 70’s. ---

As a kid I can remember loving his albums. We listened to them at our friend’s house next door because their parents liked him and there was no way we were going to duplicate that kind of outlay as a kid. He cracked us right up. I can remember exactly where he lost me: “Buck, buck” and the introduction of Fat Albert. Man, did I hate Fat Albert! I never listened to anything of his after that, just seeing him on TV occasionally mugging for the camera and reinforcing my earlier assessment. ---

I liked his description of playing pick-up football in his neighborhood as a kid, and the complex instructions given by the boy playing quarterback: “Get on the crosstown bus - I’ll fake it to you.” ---

Yes, he made a name and career for himself in the 60’s by not doing sexual or racial material, which were the common themes for many comedians. He significantly changed the comedic landscape back then by doing that. ---

I see him live several years ago at a big Veterinary conference (pet food and drug companies often pay for big name entertainment at these things). Anyway, he was hilarious, be stuck to bits about pets and animals because of his audience. I admit the guy has done some stuff I don’t like but he has indeed done a lot of funny stuff, too. ---
