I’m not an armchair pacifist – I served in the military (Navy), unlike warmongers like Kristol or Cheney, and have no problem with military force when necessary. I have a problem with monstrously idiotic usage of military force that gets thousands of Americans killed for nothing, like the Iraq war and the future wars that Kristol advocates for.
His policies make America weaker and kill thousands of Americans for nothing. He deserves nothing but harsh criticism.

A recurring quandary, unresolved. Too often I have seen my troops, under my flag, go somewhere they had no business going nor any legal right to be. And resisted by natives, who have every such right, and every right to resist a armed invasion on their soil. By all my own standards, I should “root” for them, its their country and we are in the wrong. I’m sure many of you have faced the same question and come to the same non-conclusion: I just can’t do it. Right or wrong, and though surely wrong, I just can’t do it.
