Yeah, and the last one was appointed by a Democrat who was smart enough to avoid getting the US bogged down in a land war in the Balkans. Presumably he was also smart enough to avoid putting a power-seeking yes-man at the head of the CIA, someone overconfident regarding the growing power of Bin Laden.
The problem is that Bush is protected by a loyal surviving remnant of the Great Republican Purge of '06, which under no circumstance will consider tossing their leader out on his can short of pictures of him being buttfucked by Nancy Pelosi wearing a strap-on.
Invoking Articles of Impeachment are indictments against the accused.
It isn’t more debatable. You’re wrong. A sitting president can, and three times has, been accused of a crime and prosecutorial wheels have started to turn.
Sigh … Read the fucking Constitution. Impeachment has fuck-all to do with the criminal justice system, even if the process borrows some of its terminology. Don’t we all know that by now?
No, we don’t. When you are indicted for a crime and tried and found guilty, it is irrelevant whether that process took place within or without of the criminal justice system. My cite proves this.
The borrowing of terminology from the legal system doesn’t make it *part * of the legal system. Students at VMI may wear uniforms and have ranks copied from the Army’s but does that make them *part * of the Army?
But, that said, the meme you still hold onto was widespread by the righties during the Clinton years, to help make their motives look justifiable. It worked on a lot of people; don’t be too ashamed.
Impeachment is not the same as being prosecuted for a crime; the former can only remove you from office, the latter might end in your being deprived of your civil rights and freedom.
As I said, it is uncertain and debatable whether a sitting president can be prosecuted (i.e., indicted) for a crime, without first being impeached, convicted and removed from office.
<–laughing. Okay, first of all thank you for the education. I’m laughing because this is the first time in my 44 years that anyone has mistaken me for a Republican.
I have now officially let go of that meme. Trust me.
Cartooniverse, you’re denser than I thought. Nowhere did I call you a Republican. The meme they spread did fool more people than their own membership. Republicanism and foolishness are not synonyms, and it’s doubly foolish to think so. As you obviously do. Fool.
