Part of the appeal of Bill Murray is his rejection of much of the trappings of celebrity. He has no agent or manager. He has given a small number of people in the entertainment industry the telephone number of a voice mailbox that he checks only every few weeks to see if he has been offered a role (and sometimes misses the chance for a good role because of that). He travels alone without an entourage. (I can confirm this one secondhand, since a coworker of mine met him and talked with him in the Salt Lake City airport.) He walks up behind random people in public and puts his hands over their eyes and says, “Guess who?” When they turn around to see who it is, he says, “No one will ever believe you.” He crashes weddings. He goes to random parties put on by random people and stays to wash up the dishes afterwards. ---

Hmm. My problem with a “Bill Fucking Murray” promotion is that is reminds me too much of “William Fucking Shatner”\* and the latter is hardly complimentary.
