Help my memory, Dopers. On the one year anniversary of 9/11, I distinctly remember the networks recapping the incident with re-airing of the live footage from the day followed by clips of other newscasters interviewing Arab Americans, Muslim Americans, etc. I REALLY remember Bill O’Reilly’s utmost edited interview with three religious middle easterners. It was edited SO much, one guy wasn’t shown answering a single question. It was mainly O’Reilly bashing them, interrupting them, etc. It was nothing short of Morton Downey Jr. showcasing the KKK. I’ve searched for this footage over and over and cannot find it anywhere. IIRC, it was aired on Fox local news, and I don’t remember Bill O’Reilly being a broadcast member of the cable Fox News at the time. Am I right about any of this? ---

Imagine our shock and awe in 2002 as we watched our beloved Bucs win the Super Bowl, and our Angels win the World Series (after the worst start to a season in franchise history). During the Stanley Cup series, we thought for sure that if the Ducks won, it would confirm the coming apocalypse! 😃 ---

Being an Englishman I haven’t actually watched Bill O’Reilly before. Having contributed to this thread on a minor point I thought I’d at least check out some of his show myself. I watched this interchange with Joan Walsh over the [Tiller murder](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDV1jsPlKD8&feature=popular) and O’Relly’s previous coverage of Tiller. I’m to the right of the political spectrum but my God he really is one ignorant and obnoxious arsehole, isn’t he? ---

Yep. He’s a complete little bitch. Since your British and need not watch these silly shows, I recommend you not watch Fox News Sean Hannity, which is an even bigger joke. Then again, you might be a bit curious and take a peek at him on youtube. Then you’ll see that much of American TV Media is just complete crap. ---

Maybe I’m just idealizing the past like any porch-swing sitting lawn-kid hater… but I remember there actually being attempts at journalistic integrity before Rupert Murdoch and Clear Channel owned 99% of the national megaphone. ltfire; So, here’s the little fantasy What If that played in my noggin after reading your post: After being snubbed by O’Reilly, **ltfire** says to the surrounding High-five crowd, “Hey, Bill don’t do that !” The crowd picks it up and starts chanting, “BILL DON"T DO THAT! BILL DON"T DO THAT! BILL DON"T DO THAT !” The TV cameras catch the action, it makes the broadcast, and is put up on YouTube. Then, that big crowd chant footage is available for Stewart, Colbert, et al, to run whenever O’Reilly yaps , um, extra heartily. Ah, hindsight, a juicy Mother.
