They’ve had his body for a week. They must have found and destroyed the real long form birth certificate with it, released the photoshopped one and then announced the news. As for the black people celebrating at the White House, it seemed a rather dark skinned guy was the fella at the podium. ---

One bit of discomfort. The Prez was emphatic about the operation being carried out by military personnel, special forces. Which is understandable, given the unpopularity of Robowar amongst the hearts and minds. But they attacked a cluster of violent and well-armed terrorists, direct combat with small arms, and had no casualties? Remarkable. ---

People are only human, and the drive to see someone who has hurt you hurt in return is hugely strong. Especially when that someone has then been carrying on for the better part of a decade, still trying to hurt you and yours. I don’t blame the folks partying outside the WH. September 11 is still a very raw wound for Americans, speaking from an outside perspective. The relief a ton of people are feeling is palpable. ---

The consensus seemed to be: 1. This was a completely All-Stars Special Forces operation. 2. The compound was not on any special alert. 3. The attack happened during the night. 4. It was a very quick smash, grab and run operation, with helicopters standing by. 5. Bin Laden probably had no reason to believe his cover had been made. ---

Damn, I wish I was at the bars buying shots for people, instead of home getting ready for bed. Fuck Bin Laden. He was a sick evil creep who killed thousands of people, not just on 9/11 and not just Americans. I’m glad he’s dead and I will cheer my ass off for the guys who did it. ---
