Has anyone ever built one of these or something like it? [http://home.interlynx.net/~mullers/skybox.html](http://home.interlynx.net/~mullers/skybox.html) I have a very good set of Fujinon marine binoculars 7X50 and want to build one of these for viewing the moon, etc. Does anyone else have any similar ideas for binoculars? No I haven’t, but I do have a binocular mount similar to [this](http://www.skycraftcanada.com/skycraft_giant_binocular_superstore_003.htm). It’s balanced with a counterweight so it essentially floats in the air. Very easy to use and comfortable, especially when combined with a lawn chair. ---

- - - Before you go spending so much on “optical grade” first-surface mirrors, I would advise stopping by an auto parts store and buying a regular (flat) truck replacement outside mirror. You don’t need a perfect-quality mirror because the magnification of binoculars is low. ~
